Known as the brand with the cat logo, Katjes manufactures fruit gums and other sweets and are recognised for quality among discerning consumers. Pioneers in the fruit gum market, Katjes only use pure fruit juice, fruit puree or fruit and plant extracts in production. Katjes are a brand which has wide appeal, catering to both adult and children’s tastes through their range of delicious fat free yoghurt gums, as well as the Bandies range for the little ones.
Katjes has also processed high-quality liquorice juice from selected growing areas for its popular liquorice products. It was in fact liquorice which began the brand many years ago. A certain Xaver Fassin from Sicily passed his liquorice recipe onto his son Klaus, who used the recipe to make liquorice in the shape of a little cat. He called his product “Katjes”, which is Dutch for “little cat”, and a brand was born.
